Long March Through Children's Programming

After decades of mindless kids programming on network television, there was a push for more educational TV in the early 1990s. The idea they claimed was to help children learn about recycling and the environment, but the real reason was more sinister. The goal was the create a generation of political and social activists through subversive propaganda, and that seems to have worked.

 

Check Your Brain's Tony Mazur believes shows such as Captain Planet, Nick News, and Bill Nye the Science Guy were designed to cultivate a class of egalitarians and cause division in households. Is he crazy for thinking this, or is there something to his theory?

2024 in Pop Culture/Celebrity Deaths

A slew of famous celebrities bit the dust in 2024, including Toby Keith, Willie Mays, Jerry West, Bob Newhart, James Earl Jones, Pete Rose, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Carter, and...you guessed it...OJ Simpson. There were also some wild pop culture moments that occurred, from the Hawk Tuah girl's rise and fall to comedians being allowed to be funny again, and controversies over playing Beyonce's album on country radio and the Nickelodeon documentary on the abuse happening with producers on the network.
